Race 1 – Flaxlands Another week, another beaten favourite turning up like “trust me bro, this time I’m different.”
Flaxlands got hip-and-shouldered into the carpark at Hawkesbury last start, so you can half-forgive the flop. Clean trip here? She’s right in the finish… unless the universe has other ideas again.

Race 2 – Namaste Started his career like a kid getting A’s, then suddenly puberty hit and… not so much. Gelded, trialling like he’s discovered inner peace, and now hopefully saying Namaste to the winners stall instead of the “also-ran” section. Keep safe.

Race 3 – Ernaux Ran well at Newcastle on the slop, trained by people who actually know what they’re doing — which already puts her ahead of half this field. Outside chance, but if the favourites snooze, Ernaux might slide through and pinch it.

Race 4 – Written Scandal First-up: zippy. Second-up: zzz… Warwick Farm was lightning that day so she had excuses. With a claim and the inside marble, she gets the VIP treatment. Bounce-back city incoming.

Race 5 – Flightcrew Team Curtis bringing a filly who is basically the Emirates Business Class of this race — smooth map, comfy run, and should be cruising past a few late. Solid placing behind Taxation last start, and this looks easier. Hard to hold out.

Race 6 – Verbil Dropping in class after running well behind Midnight Dynamite (who’d start $1.20 in this). Honest, consistent, and always threatening to win a race like this. You’ll get a sight, and honestly, that’s half the battle on a Friday night.

Race 7 – Blacklist Ex-Vic stayer who’s gone north, found a new stable, and now looks like he’s remembering how to be a racehorse.Third-up, out in trip, draws barrier 1 with a big neon sign saying “NO EXCUSES.” Looks very winnable for him.

Race 8 – Apex Hawkes. Fresh. Canterbury. That combo alone is enough for the market to start twitching. Trialled well, forget the bog run last prep, and he does love this joint. If the money comes, you follow it. If the money doesn’t come, you still probably follow it.
