🏇 Race 1 – RATIFY
Resumed at Warwick Farm Racecourse in a Super Maiden and ran fourth. Not disgraced. Not heroic. Just… lingering. Like that bloke at the pub who says he’s leaving but is still there at midnight.
Before the spell he was knocking on the door in his first two starts, then someone thought, “You know what? Let’s chuck him in the Spring Stakes at Newcastle Racecourse.”
Bit ambitious, but we love confidence.
He wasn’t far away in better grade and now drops back to something more suitable. Second-up. Fitter. Wiser. Hopefully less polite at the finish.
If he’s ever going to convert “nice run” into “where’s my payout,” this is the day.
🏇 Race 4 – MY PROCLAMA
Placed in ALL starts. That’s consistency. That’s reliability. That’s the horse equivalent of ordering the same schnitty every Friday night.
Fresh up at Kembla Grange Racecourse last start, went around favourite… and did what she does best — hit the line without actually crossing it first.
But here’s the thing.
She keeps knocking. One of these days that door is coming off its hinges. If the tempo’s right and the gaps appear, she absolutely can turn “nice effort” into “collect please.”
Upset special? Quite possibly. Just don’t mortgage the dog.
🏇 Race 6 – SHANGRI LA IMPACT
is the interesting one. Lightly raced mare. First start for a new stable. Two sharp trials. Fresh legs. Fresh surroundings. Fresh excuses if she gets beat.
She started her career with back-to-back seconds before ripping off wins at Hawkesbury Racecourse and Goulburn Racecourse like she’d just discovered how good winning feels.
Last seen failing in the Queensland Oaks — but let’s be fair, that’s deep water. That’s not your local splash pool.
This is much more her go.
If the new stable has tightened the screws and she brings those trial vibes to race day, she’s the one that could make the bookies reach for the antacids.
